Parades of the Past: Award-Winning Floor Plans That Stand the Test of Time
Parades of the Past: Award-Winning Floor Plans That Stand the Test of Time
April 3, 2026
Each spring, the Kansas City Parade of Homes offers a glimpse into what’s next in home design with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and evolving ways of living. The most meaningful designs don't belong to a single season. They carry forward.
For Roeser Homes, past Parade homes represent more than recognition. They reflect a consistent approach to floor plan design. An approach that is shaped through experience, refined over time, and grounded in how people truly live.
Floor Plans That Defined a Moment and Continued Beyond It
Some homes stand out during the Parade. Others continue to shape what comes next.
The Azalea, a Silver Award winner in the Spring 2019 Parade of Homes, introduced a layout centered around openness and flow, where everyday living spaces feel connected without losing their sense of purpose.
In 2020, two distinct homes further expanded that design approach.
The Roanoke earned First Place for Distinctive Plan and Design. Its layout reflects a thoughtful progression of space, where transitions feel natural and each room builds on the next.
The Lila also received First Place for Distinctive Plan and Design that same year. While distinct in its expression, the Lila shares the same foundation focused on intuitive layout, natural light, and spaces that adapt easily to daily life.
The Fairway Rebuild Project, a teardown and reconstruction of a 1950s ranch home in Fairway, Kansas, earned Distinctive Design in the Spring 2024 Parade of Homes. The project reflects how award-winning floor plans evolve in real-world applications by adapting to a specific lot, lifestyle, and setting while maintaining the same commitment to flow, functionality, and livability.
The Rosebud, carried this forward in the Fall 2024 Parade of Homes, earning both Pick of the Parade and Distinctive Design within its price range. While newly introduced, the Rosebud reflects the same core principles seen in earlier award-winning homes such as thoughtful flow, purposeful spaces, and a design that prioritizes how a home lives day to day.
A Standard That Carries Forward
What connects these award-winning homes isn’t just recognition. It’s intention. Each floor plan reflects a deeper understanding of how people move through a home. Where they gather. Where they retreat. How spaces need to flex over time.
Today, that same foundation continues to shape every Roeser Homes floor plan. Not by reinventing what works, but by refining it and building on years of experience. Because the best floor plans aren’t defined by the year they were introduced. They’re proven in the years that follow.
